November 1, 2016, Dallas, TX --- Searching for nonprofit resources online can be overwhelming. VetConnectNTX is a new online resource for veterans, military families, and social workers at nonprofit agencies. The directory is a limited universe searchable directory of nonprofit and government programs serving North Texas veterans and military families. VetConnectNTX is a project of the North Texas Veterans Funders Collaborative.
Programs that have been reviewed and approved by VetConnect North Texas volunteer teams will be prioritized in the directory search results as Verified Agencies. The review teams are made up of professional grantmakers, veterans, and community volunteers.
VetConnectNTX will make it easier to find reliable information. Visit VetConnectNTX today to create a customized search for services available in specific zip codes in a range of categories. By creating an account, you can create a list of favorites, share your search with friends and recommend additional agencies.
VetConnectNTX directory helps veterans and advocates find the answers to questions such as:
- When is the agency open? Where is the location? Whom can I call?
- What kinds of services are available, such as counseling, housing, or job training?
- Am I eligible for the services I need? Will they disqualify me because of my discharge status?
Power User training sessions were held recently for advocates and social work professionals. Participants were able to test the site on their devices and a productive Q&A followed. Power Users gave the VetConnectNTX directory and website resources an enthusiastic ‘thumbs up’ and plan to incorporate it into their work on behalf of veterans and military families.
